Well, after much thought and deliberation, I think I'm going to come back to doing commissions. I apologize heavily for all the doom and gloom earlier, things have been hard but after a couple good cries and one asthma attack later, I think I have a plan! I'm going to look into doing freelance full time; commissions, merchandise, conventions, and outside contracts. So here's some info on fun things and processes, just to let you all know!
I think what I'm going to do is only have regular slots for chibis and perhaps 1-2 reference sheets a month. All other slots will be done through YCH flat rates/auctions, and possible auctions for regular work. This way I can keep track of what I owe better, and maybe have a bit of a start on things. If everything pans out correctly, I'll be having 1-3 regular pictures to do a week, along with a smattering of chibis.
Timeframe + Work Schedule
Basically, I plan to do a batch of commissions a week. As long as I take on what I know I can manage, I think that'll keep my stress down and my motivation strong. I'm working on planning out a weekly schedule that I can stick to and keep track of things. I'm looking to do 6-8 hours a day, and I'm looking to do a 60/40 split of my hours to work on both commission work, and art to be used for my portfolio and for merchandising. And maybe an hour a day for personal work. This way I can keep track of everything and stay on task!
What to Look Forward To!
Here's the fun part! I have a lot of great things planned, and if I stick to my schedule, I can get a lot done! Here's some things I hope to get working on in the upcoming weeks:
-Adopts (Collab, along with Chubbatrice and mayhaps an Echeem or two)
-Image Packs (Themed, along with character specific ones)
-Merchandise (Pins, stickers, and prints! Shirts too!)
-Patreon (With bonus goodies!)
When Will This Start?
My plans are to get my current commissions finished, and to have a good starting plan for things. If I can get a weekly schedule plotted out, it will help me a ton in the long run! I want to start doing things full time I think, and it will be a lot of work, but it'll be good for me!
